Happy New Year! Although January got off to a rough start, things appear to have turned a corner and we’re all feeling lighter, and more hopeful for the year ahead.
To kick off our 2021 programming, we join the Port of San Francisco in co-hosting a community meeting. The goal - the community will learn about and provide feedback on their Waterfront Resilence Program. We will then move to the Esprit Renovation Project. First a presentation of two Esprit renovation design plans, follow by facilitated Q&A with Rec & Park. We will then vote on a plan to endorse to the Parks Commission.
Can’t make the meeting? The survey will be online for a limited time after the meeting to accommodate for members who can’t make it.
See you there!

ABOUT WATERFRONT RESILIENCE PROGRAM:
San Francisco‘s shoreline will experience more frequent and severe flooding in the future. The southeastern stretch of the waterfront, including Mission Creek and Mission Bay, face unique challenges which require solutions responsive to the needs and priorities of people living and working in these areas.
To address these flood risks, along with seismic vulnerabilities, the Port is leading the Waterfront Resilience Program. Learn more about the coordinated resilience efforts in Mission Creek/Mission Bay at https://www.sfportresilience.com/-mission-bay-resilience

ANNOUNCEMENTS
VOLUNTEER GARDENERS:
Save the date! We are looking for 10 volunteer gardeners for a covid-safe Esprit Park cleanup event. Normally we would love to have everyone, and have coffee and bagels to share, but due to Covid restrictions we are limited to 10 and no snacks are allowed.
ESPRIT PARK TEAM:
Do you love Esprit Park? Want to meet your neighbors and plan events in the community? Get involved in local politics? Are you a social media maven or an expert at marketing and fundraising? We would love your help!
Join the Friends of Esprit Park team. We are a funded non-profit organization sponsored by Parks Alliance and have been supporting Esprit Park and the Dogpatch community since 1996. Some of the things we’ve done in the past include raising money for Esprit Park’s renovation, neighbor get togethers and bake-offs, partnering with the Golden State Warriors for record-breaking park cleanups, and hosting several events to introduce neighbors to District Supervisor candidates.
